Women's Swimming Places Fourth at ODAC Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team opened the 2018-19 season with a fourth place finish at the ODAC Relays.

Both Eagles teams matched their preseason rank in the ODAC coaches polls, as the BC women scored 148 points to easily outpace Emory & Henry (82) for fourth place.

Bridgewater's top finish was in the 3x50 breaststroke. Zoe Moore, Jenna Walmer and Olivia Heeb-Wade swam 1:42.05 to place fifth overall.

In the 3x50 butterfly, Kelley Hilliker, Rachael King and Genevieve Young were sixth in 1:28.26. Morgan Beauregard, Laurel Glover and Amanda Nesselrodt placed eighth in the 3x50 backstroke (1:33.14).

Hilliker, Glover, Heeb-Wade and Moore were sixth in the 400 yard free relay, with a time of 3:57.38.

Young, Jessy Wilson, Phoebe Hart and Glover turned in a seventh place performance in the 8x25 relay, with a time of 1:48.37.

In the 200 medley relay, the Eagles placed eighth with Hilliker, Moore, King and Heeb-Wade (2:01.88).

The Eagles will open their dual meet season on Friday at home vs. Sweet Briar.
