BC Wins Every Event at Season-Opening Meet

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's swimming team won all 11 events in a season-opening 147-33 victory over Sweet Briar College.

Olivia Heeb-Wade opened the individual portion of the meet by winning the 800 free by nearly two-and-a-half minutes, with a time of 10:23.13.

Heeb-Wade would later take the 200 breast in 2:57.55. Zoe Moore was second with a time of 2:57.89.

Moore won the 50 free in 29.49, ahead of teammate Laurel Glover (30.57).

Glover was the winner in the 100 free, swimming 1:07.49. Taylor Berard placed second with a time of 1:10.63.

Rachael King won both the 200 fly (2:58.01) and the 200 free (2:33.65), with Jessy Wilson placing second in the 200 free in 2:56.82.

In the 200 IM, sisters Kelley Hilliker and Kaitlyn Hilliker went 1-2. Kelley also won the 400 free with a time of 5:10.34.

Amanda Nesselrodt took the 200 back in 2:46.09, with Morgan Beauregard placing second with a time of 2:52.53.

The Eagles won the 200 medley relay with Nesselrodt, Jenna Walmer, Genevieve Young and Taylor Berard swimming 2:20.45, and the 200 free relay, with Moore, Young, Nesselrodt and Heeb-Wade (2:02.76) taking the honors.

The Eagles (1-0, 1-0 ODAC) will be back in action tomorrow in the nation's capital, vs. Gallaudet and Hollins.
