GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team enters the 2019 ODAC championships facing tough competition in the top half of the conference.

The Eagles equaled their best-ever conference finish of third at last year's conference meet. In addition to last year's top four of Washington & Lee, Randolph-Macon and Emory & Henry, Bridgewater will also be contending with a second-year Roanoke program who went 3-1 in dual meets against that group this season.

Bridgewater's highest individual seed in the conference is ninth, which three different swimmers have attained. That includes Rachael King in the 400 IM (5:02.03), Kelley Hilliker in the 200 back (2:21.37) and Olivia Heeb-Wade in the 1650 free (1000 seed time of 11:37.73). Both Hilliker and King were All-ODAC qualifiers last season.

Bridgewater will have good team depth in all three of those events. In the 400 IM, Jessica Touve is seeded 10th (5:02.50), Hilliker 12th and Phoebe Hart 22nd. In the 1650 free, Laurel Glover is 13th (12:13.09) and Kaitlyn Hilliker 14th. The 200 back has Glover seeded 13th (2:27.27), Amanda Nesselrodt 14th, Morgan Beauregard 15th and Kaitlyn Hilliker 17th.

Heeb-Wade is also seeded 10th in the 100 breaststroke, 11th in the 500 free and 13th in the 200 breaststroke. Jenna Walmer is 15th in the 100 breast and 17th in the 200 breast.

The 200 fly features three Eagles seeded 10-through-12: King (2:23.33), Touve (2:28.27) and Genevieve Young (2:32.55). In the 200 IM, Touve and King rank 16-17.

Bridgewater's other returning All-ODAC swimmer is Emma Daw, who returned late after a study abroad in the fall semester. She enters the meet seeded 11th in the 100 fly (1:03.33) and 19th in the 100 free.

Touve is the 12th seed in the 200 free (2:06.74), with Glover seeded 15th, Taylor Berard 23rd and Jessy Wilson 27th.

The Eagles' top relay seed is in the 200 medley relay, where they rank third with a seed time of 1:51.52.

Friday's sessions will feature the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 400 medley relay. Saturday will include the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back. The meet will conclude on Sunday with the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay.
