Women's Swimming Sweeps Five-Team Meet

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Bridgewater College women's swimming team picked up four victories on Saturday in a five-team meet at Greensboro College.

The Eagles swept through Greensboro (131-16), William Peace (127-54), Warren Wilson (130-27) and Salem (131-28).

Bridgewater went 1-2 in eight different events despite having five different teams represented in the pool. That started with the opening 200 medley relay: Lauren Kokoski, Olivia Heeb-Wade, Genevieve Young and Kaitlyn Hilliker placed first in 2:06.96, ahead of teammates Amanda Nesselrodt, Zoe Moore, Jessica Touve and Katelyn Dear (2:10.43).

Young won the 100 free (1:01.44) ahead of teammate Hilliker, and the 100 fly (1:07.78) ahead of fellow Eagle King. Young was also the winner in the 200 free, in 2:15.42.

Touve also led a pair of 1-2 finishes, in the 1000 free (12:09.32) ahead of King, and in the 50 free (27.78) ahead of Moore.

Heeb-Wade (2:24.39) and Touve took the top two places in the 200 IM. Nesselrodt and Kokoski went 1-2 in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events.

Heeb-Wade also won the 100 breast (1:16.88) and 500 free (5:34.24), while Moore placed first in the 200 breast (2:49.96).

Nesselrodt, Hilliker, King and Moore closed a dominant performance by winning the 200 free relay in 1:56.30.

Bridgewater (10-3, 4-2 ODAC) will face Emory & Henry and Lees-McRae next weekend.
