BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's lacrosse team battled back early from a rough start but Randolph-Macon eventually pulled away in a 17-10 ODAC matchup.

Sarah Yashinskie had four goals, one assist, five draw controls and three ground balls for the Eagles. Kristen Stark had a hat trick, and Anna O'Hara totaled four points on two goals and two assists.

Defensively, Mackenzie Parcell and Kayla O'Sullivan each caused three turnovers, and goalie Mikaela Brooks made 14 saves in the cage.

The Yellow Jackets scored twice before the Eagles could touch the ball. Alicia Hsieh won the opening draw and went right down to score 14 seconds in. Hsieh claimed the ensuing draw as well, and Hannah Jones found Bella Samper to make it 2-0.

Parcell forced a giveaway after yet another RMC draw win, but Yellow Jackets goalie Elicia Watts made a nice save on Dwyer Neal's drive. Watts made another good save on Yashinskie, but the Eagle junior picked up the rebound and scored to get BC on the board.

The Eagles then cut a three-goal deficit to two on three consecutive occasions.

A nice pump fake and drive from Stark made it 5-3 Randolph-Macon. After a Yellow Jackets goal, Neal fed O'Hara to make it 6-4.

Brooks then stopped three shots on the same possession with Macon leading 7-4. Stark's free position goal at the other end cut the deficit to 7-5.

Randolph-Macon scored the final six goals of the half to take a 13-5 lead however, and struck again off the opening draw of the second period to make it seven straight.

Stark, Yashinskie and O'Hara scored three straight for Bridgewater in a span of 2:32, making it 17-9 late in the game.

Wells finished with 12 saves for Randolph-Macon, while Saunders Riley scored a game-high six goals.

Bridgewater falls to 8-3, 2-2 ODAC while Randolph-Macon sits at 6-6, 3-1.
