BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College women's soccer team is ranked No. 6 in the NCAA South Atlantic Region, up two spots from No. 8 in last week's rankings. The Eagles moved up after handing Randolph-Macon its first loss of the season, 1-0 in overtime.
Christopher Newport is ranked No. 1 in the NCAA poll, followed by Centre and The College of New Jersey. Lynchburg leads a group of four ODAC schools in the rankings as the Hornets are slotted at No. 4. Rowan is fifth, followed by Bridgewater, Emory, Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan.
Bridgewater also moved up in the United Soccer Coaches South Atlantic Region rankings, checking in at No. 7 this week.
The Eagles are in action tonight at Shenandoah University. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Bridgewater returns home on Saturday to close out the regular season against Virginia Wesleyan. The contest is the team's annual Cancer Awareness Game. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
