Eagles Blank Sweet Briar, 6-0

SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Bridgewater College overcame a slow start to score five second-half goals and defeat Sweet Briar College 6-0 in ODAC action Wednesdsay afternoon.

Six different players scored goals for the Eagles as they improved to 5-5-2 overall and 1-2 in the ODAC.

The Eagles dominated play against the Vixens, but could find the net just once in the first 45 minutes. Bridgewater held a 1-0 lead at the half on a goal by Catherine Haufe in the 28th minute.

The Eagles scored two goals in the first 13 minutes of the second half to add to the lead. Sydney Ryan scored less than two minutes into the half with Haufe and Kaia Richardson recording assists on the play. Cyan Coates scored an unassisted goal in the 59th minute, making the score 3-0.

Bridgewater broke the game open, scoring three more goals during a four-minute span.

Hanna Randolph's goal in the 76th minute put the Eagles ahead 4-0. Just 32 seconds later Bridget Fabiani scored off a pass from Hunter Collier to push the margin to 5-0. Madison Crooks finished the scoring with a goal in the 79th minute, making the score 6-0.

Jessica Touve recorded the shutout in goal for the Eagles.

Bridgewater returns to action Friday evening when they travel to Ferrum College. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
