Women's Track Earns Two First Place Finishes at Jack Toms Invitational

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Bridgewater College women's track & field team got two event wins as the Eagles competed at Lynchburg's Dr. Jack Toms Invitational.

The Eagles' relay team of Tye Meador, Emily Valle, Courtney Adams and Amber Celen won the 4x100m in 48.88.

Katelyn Senger won the discus in 41.30m/135'6.25". Allison Combs (32.22m/105'8.75") and Sydne Moseley (31.97m/104'11") went 9-10 in the event.

Other high finishes on the track included Calista Ariel in the 3K steeplechase (third, 12:37.40) and the 100m hurdles, where Valle was second (15.47) and Felicia Clements was fifth (17.03).

Jenna Rea (43:08.52) and Erin Quinn (44:29.33) were third and fourth in the 10,000 meters. Maryellen Hauver placed fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.05.

In the long jump, Celen (5.67m/18'7.25") was second overall and Meador (5.47m/17'11.50") was fifth. Meador also placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.36m/34'0".

Adams took second in the pole vault, clearing 3.25m/10'8".

Senger also placed sixth in the shot put (11.00m/36'1.25") and ninth in the hammer (37.26m/122'3.25"). Other shot put competitors included Chloe Ferguson (ninth, 10.61m/34'9.75"), Moseley (12th, 10.57m/34'8.25") and Danielle Werner (14th, 10.18m/33'4.75").

Clements tied for fourth place in the high jump, clearing 1.52m/4'11.75". Kathryn McElroy cleared 1.42m/4'7.75" to tie for 12th overall.

Bridgewater will be home next weekend for its annual Doc Jopson Invitational, which will include an alumni reunion.
