FOREST, Va. - Rachel Gaston, a junior from Mechanicsville, Va., has been named the ODAC Volleyball Player of the Week for third time the 2018 season.
Gaston tallied 53 total kills to go along with 50 digs and 7 blocks in matches against Emory & Henry, Eastern Mennonite, St. Mary's (Md.), and Lebanon Valley. She only committed 18 total attack errors on 133 attempts. Her best match of the week came against Emory & Henry, where she posted 18 kills and a .516 hitting percentage.
The junior currently leads the conference in kills with 392 and is second in kills per set with 4.22. She also ranks sixth in digs per set 4.16 and seventh in total digs with 387.
The Eagles return to action for the quarterfinals of the ODAC tournament on Wednesday, October 31. The team takes on Lynchburg in a rematch of last season's first round match that ultimately went to the Hornets. The Eagles defeated Lynchburg 3-0 earlier this season. Game time is 7 p.m.
